ColeCo - Can't Stop

Track #6 off of The Magician's Magic Tape 16 has been receiving a lot of buzz. Toronto's ColeCo is considered "nu-disco-punk" (these subgenres never stop) and is comprised of Duncan Grewar and Sean Koch. They recently opened for my only true Canadian love The Weeknd.

|VIDEO| Jesse Boykins III - I Can't Stay

Gold Panda released the original instrumental track Marriage earlier this February. It's already received a beautiful remix by Star Slinger and now has a few words and visuals to accompany it, as well. The track never gets old for me. This is not Boykins' first time working with the talented producer; hope it's not the last.

The Roots (feat. Big K.R.I.T.) - Make My

An unexpectedly beautiful breakdown awaits halfway in.

|Album Stream| Amtrac - Came Along ( + Mixtape)

I know Amtrac for his killer remixes, but I'll admit that I've never listened to many of his singles. His two previous EP's Emergency and Fear have some tracks that are definitely worth listening to, but he outdoes himself in his latest LP, Came Along (released September 27th). Though I've been actively following him, I hadn't heard of more than two songs from it until last night. It's a noticeable departure from his previous style and I'm loving it.

Here's most of it. (I'm missing 02 -What to Say and 07 - Summer, but you can buy them on iTunes)

I promise, you'll have this stuck on repeat.

Edit: Also peep this new mixtape he released yesterday:

|Album Stream| Body Language - Social Studies

The most underrated artist of 2011 goes to Body Language.

I love everything about this album - Body Language manages to infuse sex and funk into every track off of their latest album Social Studies.

I was a little confused at first, too. "I thought they...already released Social Studies...?" Their four song EP this February didn't receive as much attention as it should have, though tracks like You Can and Social Studies circulated the internet like a viral epidemic (and rightly so.) Thus, they decided to add four more songs and re-release it as an LP this October. Doing an NPR stream was definitely a smart way to go the second time around.

FREAKIN' LISTEN.

Buy it. Buy it. Buy it.

(For my love, Krumbalina)

M83 - Hurry Up We're Dreaming Full Album Stream

M83's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming was released as an exclusive on Urban Outfitter's blog. I guess their website couldn't handle the overwhelming blogosphere traffic, so I had to wait a few days before the page would even load. Cool idea, guys.

Anyways, take a listen to one of the hands down most epic albums of the year HERE.

Death Cab for Cutie - Doors Unlocked and Open (Cut Copy Remix)

I'm a little thrown off by Cut Copy's recent trend of releasing mix tapes and remixes - but I'm pretty happy to hear from them in any form.

Heavenly Beat - Suday

Suday is my new favorite day of the week.

She Said Disco - Again & Again

She Said Disco's Again & Again is definitely the best gem on this disco dance party.

(For Brad Dalton.)

DFA Remix Galore

So apparently I fell off the face of the planet this week. Let's remedy the sitch. First up, DFA Records has posted a handful of remixes to their beloved classics of 2011. Here are my picks.

This one puts some smooth butter on one of my old favorites (won't let me embed the Soundcloud, sorry):

Taaalk to meee:

Shit Robot - Answering Machine (Planningtorock Pizzo Remix) by DFA Records

If you remember, the Emperor Machine remix is the best thing I've ever heard done to this song, but this is a close second:

Off of Still Corner's Album Creatures of an Hour

My top picks from Still Corners's latest album Creatures of an Hour. I later chose these songs rather than the whole album because they started to sound the same or lacked too much structure to keep my attention. These are great though.

Amateur Best - The Good Life

One of my favorites from last week. Amateur Best is Primary 1's latest project. They are releasing a comic book with one song in every issue, check it out here http://www.amateurbest.co.uk/.

Issue 1 starts:

"This is the story of James Best, latent alcoholic, sometime London based DJ, and lifelong amateur.

We invite you now to follow our hero through the murder and the mayhem that is pre-Olimpik London, as James' fate becomes inexorably entwined with that of the city he lives in.

There will be tears."

SBTRKT - Hold On (Siavash Ice Cold Remix)

Latest remix from Vancouver's DJ Siavash has me speechless.

Justice - Cannon + Newlands

I originally felt lukewarm about Justice's upcoming album Audio, Video, Disco, but Cannon has certainly undone that. Newlands - a little lighter a little brighter, is also a classic in the making. Set to drop on October 24th via Ed Banger Records, you can pre-order it on i-Tunes right now.

|VIDEO| Florence + The Machine - Shake it Out

Florence + The Machine's sophomore album Ceremonials is due out November 15th in the United States. Though Shake it Out just dropped last week, it's already received a remix by The Weeknd and has just been paired with a dizzy display of glittering masqueraders.

The Weeknd's take:

Florence & The Machine - Shake It Out (The Weeknd Remix) by W-R-G

"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter -- tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther...and one fine morning -- so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

 -- F. Scott Fitzgerald.
